BUFFALO, N.Y. - The Manhattan men's and women's swimming and diving teams broke three school records on the final day of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championships on Saturday at the Burt Flickinger Center.
The Jaspers took down 18 records over the course of the four-day meet. The women's team set school bests in all five relay races at the same competition for the first time in program history.
"I was very proud of the way both the men and women competed throughout the championships," head coach Walter Olsewski said on Saturday night. "Setting 18 records is a true tribute to the work both teams put in throughout the year."
Men
Senior Mike Mackay, junior Dallan Treanor, sophomore Rich Llewellyn and freshman Neil Perry were tabbed Manhattan Men's Performers of the Meet by the coaching staff.
Llewellyn set the lone record on the men's side on Saturday, swimming to a 1:55.02 in the 200 butterfly.
The men's side broke seven records at the championships.
Women
Sophomores Madison Brown and Sara Buckley and freshmen Eileen Blood and Alexandra Hutzler were named Manhattan Women's Performers of the Meet following Saturday night's events.
The women's team slashed two school marks on the final day of the competition.
Blood set a school best in the 1650 freestyle, clocking an 18:48.29 in the event to break a record Bridget Latino has held since 2010.
In the 400 freestyle relay, Buckley, Brown, sophomore Patricia Colton and Hutzler clocked a 3:41.37 to set the final Manhattan record of the championships.
The women's side cracked the Jaspers' record book 11 times during the meet.
