Manhattan Breaks Five More Records on Day 3 of MAAC Championships

BUFFALO, N.Y. - The Manhattan's men's and women's swimming and diving teams continued their impressive run of form on Day 3 of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championships by setting five school marks.

After three days of competition, the Jaspers have achieved 15 school records.

Men

The men's squad set three school records on the day, as senior Mike Mackay led the charge with school bests in the 50- and 100 breaststroke events.

The senior led off the 100 breaststroke with a time of 26.40 in the first 50 yards. He concluded the race, clocking a 57.21 to set two school marks in one race.

Junior Dallan Treanor also eclipsed a school record, as he swam to a 50.15 in the 100 butterfly.

Women

The women's side set two new school marks on the day, in the 50 breaststroke and the 400 medley relay.

Freshman Alexandra Hutzler set a record in the 50 breaststroke, when she swam the first half of the 100 in 31.55.

The 400 medley relay team, consisting of senior Kerry Schuermann, sophomores Madison Brown and Sara Buckley and freshman Hutzler, set a school best by posting a 4:02.15.

 

The Jaspers will conclude the MAAC Championships when the final day of competition kicks off at the Burt Flickinger Center on Saturday at 9 a.m.
