Riverdale, NY - Playing with just six scholarship student-athletes, Manhattan dropped an 89-86 decision to Adelphi in exhibition action at Draddy Gymnasium.
Senior Shane Richards (New York, NY / York Prep) led all players with a game-high 38 points, including going 16-of-17 at the line, while junior Rich Williams (Brooklyn, NY / Vermont Academy (VT) added 19 points with five rebounds.
In the frontcourt, sophomore Zane Waterman (Winston-Salem, NC / Fayetteville Academy) narrowly missed a double-double with 13 points and a game-high nine rebounds while junior Tyler Wilson (Bronx, NY / Cardinal Hayes) played the role of facilitator to the tune of a game-high 11 assists while helping pressure the visitors into 23 miscues.
Manhattan will begin its quest for a third-straight MAAC Championship on Monday, November 16 at Saint Mary's with opening tip slated for 10:00 pm (EST).
