SWARTHMORE, Pa. – On Monday evening, three members of the Manhattan College outdoor track & field team made one last attempt to reach the qualifying standard for the ECAC/IC4A Championships at the Swarthmore Final Qualifier from Skallerup Track. Unfortunately, however, the Jaspers came up just short in their qualifying efforts.
In the women's 100 meter hurdles, Doreen Horschig (Lumpzig, Germany) ended up less than 0.1 seconds short of the standard. Needing to post a time of 14.34 seconds, she was clocked in 14.43 seconds. Meanwhile, in the women's 400 meter hurdles, Kathy Cadet (Endicott, N.Y.) was 0.32 seconds shy of qualifying. She needed to run 1:02.04 or better and posted a time of 1:02.36.
On the men's side, Anthony Hall (Mountainville, N.Y.) went after the mark in both the 100 meters and 200 meters. His time in the 100 was 11.15 seconds, while he ran the 200 in 22.10 seconds.
The next competition for the Jaspers is the ECAC/IC4A Championships, which get underway with the decathlon on Friday from Princeton's Weaver Stadium.
