FORT MYERS, Fla. - Manhattan led 2-0 after the first inning and a half, but Florida Gulf Coast tied the game at 2-2 in the fifth and went ahead in the sixth, ultimately defeating the Jaspers 5-2 at Swanson Stadium in the series finale on Sunday.

The Jaspers pushed a run across in the first inning and went ahead 2-0 when Jose Carrera's two-out single drove home Yoandry Galan, who was hit by a pitch earlier in the frame.

Florida Gulf Coast got to Manhattan starter Michael Martin in the bottom of the second with two outs. After Martin issued a leadoff walk, he struck out the next two Eagles before Andrew Valencia drove a run-scoring triple to right center to make it a 2-1 Jaspers lead.

The Eagles cobbled together a two-out rally in the fifth to score an unearned run that tied the game at 2-2 before taking a 4-2 advantage with two runs in the sixth.

Trailing 5-2 in the ninth, Christian Santisteban belted a leadoff single, his second base hit of the game. Evan Brown followed with a two-out walk, bringing the tying run to the plate but Eagles closer Brady Anderson recorded the final out to nail down his third save of the series.
