Sacred Heart Tops Women's Swimming, 118-85

RIVERDALE, N.Y. - The Manhattan College women's swimming and diving team captured two event titles but it was not enough to knock off Sacred Heart, which defeated the Jaspers 118-85 at Riverdale Country School on Saturday afternoon.

Patricia Colton took home first place in the 100-meter freestyle in a time of 58.33 and Paige Raccioppi outlasted the competition in the 500-meter freestyle, taking first in 5:35.64, helping the Jaspers claim the top three spots in that event. Kimberly Geissler was second in 5:49.69 and Madison Brown ended up in third place in a time of 5:50.32.

"Despite the loss," head coach Walter Olsewski said after the meet, "we showed the most spirit and effort this season."

Colton and Raccioppi were named Manhattan's Co-Swimmers of the Meet against Sacred Heart.

Manhattan is back in action on Tuesday, January 21 at home against Wagner at 7 p.m.
