RIVERDALE, N.Y. - The 106th edition of the Millrose Games got underway with the men's and women's weight throw at Draddy Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon. Fresh off going 1-2 at the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championships on Friday night, a pair of Jaspers-Anastas Papazov (Balchik, Bulgaria) and Killian Barry (Dublin, Ireland) participated in the competition.
Papazov finished in sixth place with a toss of 18.04 meters (59 feet, 2¼ inches), while Barry captured seventh place overall. His best mark was 16.62 m (54'6½). The gold medal in the event went to former Manhattan College star Jake Freeman, whose top effort was 23.45 m (76'11¼).
