HORSHAM TOWNSHIP, Pa. – Chris Calabro placed eighth out of more than 60
participants at the La Salle University Spring Invitational at Talamore Country
Club in Horsham Township, Pa. on Monday. He led a group of five Jaspers
that placed sixth as a team in a field of 13 schools.
After an
opening round 78, Calabro was 10 over on Monday to finish the two day event
with a score of 159. Sophomore Matthew Creamer also placed in the top 20, tying for 16th with an
overall score of 162 after his 83 on Tuesday.
The low man
of the day for Manhattan
was Jonathan Feuer who took three
strokes off his Sunday score of 83, and shot nine over to end up in a tie for
20th. Seniors Robert Kehoe
and Pat Bibaud also competed in the
event with combined scores of 170 and 179 respectively.
The overall
team championship when to Fordham
University who shot a
combined 621 in the event while Hofstra's Brandon Shin took the individual
title. Iona, Hofstra, La Salle and Monmouth
also finished ahead of the Jaspers in the 13 team event.
Manhattan returns to the course on Sat.,
March 31, when they take part in the Peter King Memorial Tournament at Long
Island National Golf Course.
