RIVERDALE, N.Y. - In their final meet of the season, the Manhattan Women's swim team struggled to find consistency, winning just one of the first seven events in a 109-88 loss to Saint Peter's at Riverdale Country Day School.
The Peahens cruised out to large lead winning the first six events before senior Bridget Latino won the 100 yard butterfly in 1:00.69 seconds. She would end her stellar career with another victory in the 400 yard freestyle relay, anchoring the team of Vanessa L'Heureux, Kim Geissler, and Melanie Tam.
During her swim of the 100 yard Individual Medley, Latino broke the school record in the event with a time of 1:04.43 seconds. The record, set in 2004, was formerly held by Courtney Arduini (Class of '07) with a time of 1:04.77. This record gives Latino 14 different school marks throughout her illustrious career.
The Jaspers had only one other winner in senior Mary Kate O'Leary. In her final performance at home, O'Leary led a trio of Manhattan swimmers in the 100 yard breaststroke finishing with a time of 1:19.69 seconds, ahead of teammates Jacqueline Mamary and Alyssa Maccarrone.
Manhattan finishes their dual meet season with a record of 7-11 and will next compete at the MAAC Championships on Feb. 15 in Buffalo, N.Y.
