RIVERDALE, N.Y. – The Manhattan Men's
Golf team shot a combined 299 to win the Susquehanna Fall Golf Invitational at
Susquehanna Valley Country Club in Selinsgrove, Pa. while Matt Creamer ended up
taking the individual championship with a low round of 71.
This
marks the first tournament win of the year for the Jaspers and the first win of
the season for Creamer. Other golfers taking part included Paul Toohey who
finished with a 72, Jon Feuer and Chris Calabro (each scored a round of 80) and
Marc Delzio who had a six-over 76. Creamer's one-over 71 was the lowest score
of the 50 golfers who competed.
The
ten team tournament included squads from across Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
Manhattan was the only school to finish with a team score under 300 placing
eight strokes ahead of the next closest team, Elmira. The scoring takes the top
four scores of each school and adds them together.
The
Jaspers will be back in action on Sept. 29 when they travel to Twisted Dune
Country Club in Egg Harbor Township, N.J. for the Eastern Collegiate Athletic
Conference (ECAC) Fall Championships.
