Manhattan (5-22)

Manhattan looks for its second win in three games when the Jaspers visit Stony Brook on Saturday afternoon. The Jaspers last victory came on Sunday when Manhattan picked up a 84-81 victory over Siena at Draddy Gymnasium. The Jaspers erupted for 51 points in the second half, shooting 57.7% (15-26) from the field.

The Jaspers will try to bounce back from a loss to local MAAC rival Iona on Wedneseday. Manhattan sophomore guard George Beamon led all scorers for the second straight contest by posting 21 points against the Gaels. It was his sixth 20-point performance of the year and followed a career-high 35 point effort in the Jaspers victory over Siena. He shot 12-for-19 against the Saints and was a perfect 10-for-10 at the free-throw line.

Beamon, a Roslyn, N.Y. native, has averaged 19.2 points starting in each of the Jaspers' last five contests. During this stretch he has shot 44% (37-84) from the field and 21-for-24 (87.5%) at the free-throw line. He currently ranks third in the MAAC with 15.9 points per game and he stands ninth in the conference shooting 71.1% from the free-throw line.
