Scouting Report

Manhattan (2-10, 0-2 MAAC)

After an 11 day layoff, Manhattan looks to shake off a 10 game losing streak. The Jaspers are coming off a 70-57 setback at Bowling Green on Dec. 22, but for the first time this season Manhattan suited up 12 healthy players against the Falcons.

The Jaspers are led by sophomore guard George Beamon who is coming off his 10th double-digit scoring effort, leading Manhattan for the fifth time this season posting 18 points at Bowling Green. Beamon shot 7-for-12 from the field, grabbed seven rebounds and dished out a career-high three assists. He is averaging a team-high 14.6 points per game, which ranks sixth in the MAAC. Beamon is sixth in the MAAC with a 7.4 rebounding average, and he is shooting 42.7% from the field.

Demetrius Jemison, a 6'8" graduate transfer from Alabama, has provided solid contributions to the Jaspers lineup since receiving clearance from the NCAA for a transfer waiver on Dec. 10. Jemison has averaged 10.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, and he is shooting 41.4% from the field in three starts.

Freshman point guard Michael Alvarado is the only Jasper to start all 12 games this season, and he is averaging 12.3 points and a team-high 3.6 assists per game. Alvarado has been consistent at the free-throw line, logging a team-high 81.4% (57-70) mark.

Kidani Brutus and Rhamel Brown have also been consistent contributors to the Manhattan roster. Brutus, a junior transfer from the Bronx, is averaging 9.1 points and leads Manhattan with 19 3-point field goals. He has scored double-digits in five of 12 appearances. Brown, a 6'6" freshman forward from Brooklyn, leads Manhattan and ranks third in the league with 8.1 rebounds per game. Brown is the Jaspers' top shot blocker, boasting a 1.9 blocks per game average.

Rider (9-5, 1-1 MAAC)

Rider is riding a three game winning streak and has won four of its last five contests. The Broncs sole loss during their hot streak came at Drexel, falling 71-67 in overtime.

The Broncs boast the second highest scoring offense in the MAAC, averaging 72.4 points per game. Rider is also the best shooting team in the league, logging a 48.7% field goal mark and a 41.9% rate from 3-point territory.

Rider is led by senior point guard Justin Robinson who is fifth in the MAAC averaging 15.1 points per contest and third in the conference with 57 assists. Robinson is the third best free-throw and 3-point shooter in the MAAC with a 85.4% mark at the charity stripe and 47.4% from beyond the arc.

Senior forward Mike Ringgold, a 6'7" 215-pound native of Philadelphia, is a key contributor in the blocks. Ringgold has averaged 12.9 points and 5.2 rebounds this season. He is fourth in the MAAC with a 56.1% field goal percentage.

Broncs' big men Novar Gadson, a 6'7" junior, and Brandon Penn, a 6'8" junior, are also averaging double-figures. Gadson has posted 11.6 points and 4.6 rebounds per game. Penn is averaging 10.1 points and 4.9 rebounds.
