RIVERDALE, N.Y. - Manhattan returns to Draddy Gymnasium on Super Bowl Sunday when the Jaspers host Loyola at 2 p.m. Fans can watch all the action live from Riverdale exclusively at GoJaspers.com.
Manhattan (8-15, 3-10) and Loyola (11-12, 4-9) square off for the 46th time in series history. The Jaspers snapped a three game losing streak to the Greyhounds last year on Feb. 7 as Manhattan picked up a 72-65 victory in Baltimore. Jaspers' center Laurence Jolicoeur posted 17 points, and nearly set a school record converting 15-of-15 free-throw attempts. Manhattan sank 32-of-37 (86.5%) free-throws in the game. Darryl Crawford contributed 12 points off the bench in the triumph.
Manhattan has defeated Loyola in 16 of their 21 meetings in the last 10 years. The Greyhounds edged Manhattan 58-54 in their last showdown at Draddy Gymnasium on Jan. 16, 2009.. Loyola guard Jamal Barney posted game-highs with 21 points and eight rebounds.
The Jaspers are coming off a 72-47 rout of Marist on Friday before an ESPNU audience. Crawford posted a game-high 20 points, while guards Rico Pickett and George Beamon scored 13 points apiece.
