TONIGHT'S GAME
The Lady Jaspers (6-3) wrap up their non-conference road slate with tonight's matchup at Cornell (1-7).  Manhattan is coming off a 49-45 victory over Fordham in the annual "Battle of the Bronx" on Saturday night.  The Big Red fell to Canisius, 66-58, on Sunday afternoon.  Cornell has dropped four in a row since a 62-54 victory over Winston-Salem State on Nov. 22.  Following tonight's game, Manhattan has nine days off before hosting Army in its final non-conference contest on Dec. 30.

THE LADY JASPERS
Manhattan (6-3) wraps up its non-conference road schedule looking for its second straight victory.  The Lady Jaspers are coming off a 49-45 triumph at Fordham on Saturday night and have won five of their last six games.  Senior guard Abby Wentworth tallied a game-high 18 points against Fordham, and she averages a team-leading 14.0 points per game.  Wentworth also leads the Lady Jaspers in steals (4.6 apg) and steals (3.0 spg), while also averaging 5.2 boards per contest.  Freshman guard Monica Roeder contributes 8.0 points per game, while junior forward Lindsey Loutsenhizer adds 7.7 points and 4.1 boards per outing.  Junior forward Nadia Peters pulls down a team-high 6.0 rebounds per game to go with 2.0 assists and 1.9 blocks per contest.  The Lady Jaspers have nine days off before concluding non-conference play (and the 2010 calendar year) with a home game against Army on Dec. 30.

THE BIG RED
Cornell (1-7) dropped a 66-58 decision to Canisius on Sunday and has lost four straight since a 62-54 victory over Winston-Salem State on Nov. 22.  As a team, Cornell averages just 51.8 points per game, led by sophomore forward Clare Fitzpatrick's 9.3 points per game.  Fitzpatrick is also tied for the team lead in rebounding, averaging 4.9 per contest, and leads the Big Red with 1.5 steals per game.  Freshman guard Stephanie Long contributes 7.6 points and team-high 2.9 assists per game, while fellow freshman guard Allyson DiMagno is tied for the team lead in rebounding (4.9 rpg) to go along with 7.4 points per contest.  Sophomore guard Taylor Flynn distributes 2.5 assists per game, while freshman guard Shelby Lyman hands out 2.3 assists per outing.  The Big Red, who take nine days off before returning to action at Bucknell on Dec. 30, were picked to finish seventh in the Ivy League Preseason Poll.

SERIES HISTORY
The only previous meeting between the Lady Jaspers and Big Red was a 71-67 Cornell victory at Draddy Gymnasium on Dec. 19, 2009.  Cornell is Manhattan's second Ivy League opponent this season.  The Lady Jaspers knocked off Columbia 65-56 on Nov. 23, 2010.  Manhattan has faced each of the eight Ivy League schools at least once and has an all-time record of 22-17 against the Ivy League.

WHAT HAPPENED LAST TIME
After trailing by 13 points early in the second half, the Lady Jaspers battled all the way back to post a 49-45 victory over Fordham in the annual "Battle of the Bronx" on Saturday night at Rose Hill Gym.  The Rams led 30-18 at halftime and increased their advantage to 33-20 at the 18:33 mark of the second half before an Alyssa Herrington three-pointer ignited a 12-2 rally that brought the Lady Jaspers back within one, 37-36.  Manhattan took a 43-41 lead on a trey by Abby Wentworth at the 4:44 mark.  The Lady Jaspers never trailed again and held on for a 49-45 victory.  Wentworth scored 14 of her game-high 18 points in the second half.  She also had five rebounds and five assists.  Lindsey Loutsenhizer added 11 points and five boards off the bench, while Herrington had eight points in her first start of the season.
