RIVERDALE, N.Y. - The Manhattan men's basketball team returns to the hardwood on Sunday when the Jaspers travel to Jersey City for a showdown with Saint Peter's. Tip off for the ESPNU televised contest is slated for 2 p.m. Fans can also listen to the action live at GoJaspers.com.
Manhattan (7-14, 2-9) and Saint Peter's (12-9, 7-4) collide for the 112th time in this local MAAC rivalry. The Jaspers have played Saint Peter's more than any other team in program history. Their last time out on Jan. 8 the Jaspers rolled to a 76-53 victory at Draddy Gymnasium. Jaspers' junior guard Rico Pickett led the charge with 19 points and senior forward Brandon Adams tied a career-high with 15 points going along with eight rebounds. Senior guard Darryl Crawford also finished with 15 points and a career-high five assists. Manhattan shot a sweltering 60% (30-50) from the field and 53.8% (7-13) from 3-point territory. Antoine Pearson gave Manhattan a spark off the bench finishing with 10 points, along with freshman George Beamon who had a perfect shooting effort going 3-for-3 and 2-for-2 from the free-throw line for a career-high eight points.
