RIVERDALE, N.Y. - The Manhattan men's basketball team visits the Times Union Center on Monday for its showdown with two-time defending MAAC champion Siena (14-4, 7-0). Fans can listen to all the action from downtown Albany live at GoJaspers.com. Tip off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
Manhattan (7-10, 2-5 MAAC) and Siena meet for the 77th time in series history. The Saints have won the last three meetings, including a 93-69 victory their last time out on Feb. 12, 2009 at the Times Union Center. Darryl Crawford led Manhattan with 22 points and six rebounds. Chris Smith (17) and Laurence Jolicoeur (10) also delivered double-digit scoring efforts. Manhattan's last win over the Saints was on Feb. 18, 2008 in a 73-72 triumph at Draddy Gymnasium. Antoine Pearson sank six 3-pointers and finished with a team-high 20 points.
The Jaspers look to erase a two game skid. Manhattan is coming off a 63-61 overtime loss to Canisius on Saturday afternoon at Draddy Gymnasium. Crawford and Rico Pickett scored a game-high 16 points apiece in the Jaspers first overtime contest in two years. Jolicoeur grabbed a career-high 11 rebounds and senior forward Brandon Adams added nine points to the effort.
