Manhattan raced out of the gate with its hot shooting to take an 18-6 advantage by the 12:29 mark. Crawford sank back-to-back buckets to give the Jaspers this seven point lead, their largest of the stanza. With 9:11 on the clock the New York City native buried a driving lay up which marked the 1,000th point of his career, and then nearly one minute later he sank another acrobatic reverse lay up.
Princeton got defensive and held the Jaspers scoreless for a 5:38 span down the stretch while it pieced together a late rally. Mavraides converted the go ahead trey (53-52) at 3:26 and the Tigers held on until the end.
