Hutzler Picks Up Three Firsts To Lead Women's Swim Team to Win Over Lehman

Riverdale, N.Y.- Kayla Hutzler picked up three wins, while Catherine Chan and Rebecca Schwartz  picked up two wins each, to lead the Manhattan College women's swim team to a 97-83 win in their first dual meet of the season.  The meet was held at Riverdale Country School.

The women's team got off on a good mark when the 200 medley relay team of Rebecca Schwartz, Hutzler, Kellie Monaco and Chan won the race in 2:01.73. 

Chan also picked up a gold in the 50 free in 26.40.  Hutzler got her second win in the 200 IM event, winning that race in 2:31.26 and her third first place finish in the 100 breast stroke (in 1:18.54).  Schwartz picked up her second win in the 100 backstroke (in 1:08.53).

Also picking up wins at the meet were sophomore Bridget Latino, who won the 200 free in 2:05.83, and freshman Jamie Reiff, who won the 1000 free in 13:24.52.

The women's team next meet will be Friday, when it travels to Newark, N.J. to take on NJIT, VMI and Mount St. Mary's at NJIT.
