Bronx, N.Y. ? On a very hot, steamy Fordham University field, the Manhattan College women's soccer team lost to the Fordham Rams 4-1 Sunday afternoon.

 

The Lady Jaspers kept the game close in the first half, giving up the lone first half goal in the 27th minute, a deflection off a goal kick that was put home by Lady Ram Kim Boulos off assists from Katie Sanchez and Katie McDermott.

 

Fordham scored twice early in the second half to clinch the contest, getting a goal three minutes into the half by Sanchez off an assist from Boulos and then six minutes later getting a tally by Boulos off an assist by Sanchez.

 

Lady Jasper Amanda Fischer brought one back for Manhattan in the 64th minute off an assist from Meghan Savoia.  But Fordham's Kelsey Walker added a fourth goal, unassisted, in the 83rd minutes to make the score 4-1 Fordham.

 

Manhattan was outshot in the contest 13-6.  Lady Jasper goalkeeper Caitlin Trupiano had two saves in the contest; fellow Lady Jasper goalkeeper Alyssa Bachowski also had two saves.

 

The Lady Jaspers next contest is next Sunday, September 21, at the University of Rhode Island.
