The Matchup

The Jaspers enter this contest coming off an impressive 73-72 victory over Siena at Draddy Gymnasium on Monday evening. Antoine Pearson put on a 3-point clinic going 6-7 from beyond the arc leading Manhattan to its third straight win. Freshman guard Chris Smith notched his second straight double-double finishing with 13 points and a career-high 12 rebounds. Devon Austin, a junior forward, tallied 12 points, seven rebounds and four assists over 32 minutes of action. The Jaspers were 11-21 (52.4%) from downtown and 29-60 (48.3%) from the field.

Binghamton is coming off a pair of home wins over New Hampshire and Maine last week. The Bearcats edged New Hampshire 56-54 on Feb. 14 behind 18 points from Mike Gordon. He was 8-16 from the field and collected six rebounds. Then on Sunday, Binghamton cruised to an impressive 80-55 win over Maine. Junior guard Dwayne Jackson posted a career-high 26 points coming off the bench. Jackson went 11-15 from the field and 3-3 from 3-point range. The Bearcats caused 26 turnovers and swiped 19 steals during the contest.


What's Next???

Manhattan wraps up the regular season with a couple road contests, and then travels to Albany for the 2008 MAAC Championships. The Jaspers visit Fairfield on Friday night looking to avenge its 66-61 loss at Draddy Gymnasium on Feb. 8. The game will be broadcast live on Sirius Satellite Radio channel 107. Tip off is set for 7:30 p.m.

On Sunday, Manhattan heads to New Rochelle for its meeting with local rival Iona which will be televised on MSG.
