Lady Jaspers Notch Second Straight Win, 70-60 Over Stony Brook

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL ALL SET FOR GAME AT SAINT PETER'S

Today's Game: The Lady Jaspers will take on Saint Peter's College today. Both teams are 4-1 in the MAAC but Manhattan has beat Saint Peter's most recently in their MAAC home opener, earlier this year. In Manhattan's 78-68 win at Draddy Gym in December, Caitlin Flood tied her career high scoring 27 points in that game. Saint Peter's leads the all-time series 48-14 but Manhattan has won the past two out of three contests. Flood has posed problems for the Peahens ever since she was a freshman, averaging 14.9 points per game as well as 5.1 rebounds per game against Saint Peter's in her career. She has had only one game where she hasn't scored in double digits against their MAAC opponent.

History Vs. Saint Peter's: The Lady Jaspers are 14-48 against the Peahens in the all-time series. But Manhattan has taken two out of the last three contests, including a 78-68 victory in their MAAC home-opener earlier this season.

History vs. MAAC: The Lady J's have 192-204 record while playing MAAC opponents. Last season they lost a second round game to MAAC Champion Marist College, 55-42. Manhattan finished 7-11 last year in conference play and is currently 2-0 this season.

Record at Draddy: The Lady J's hold a 211-156 record while playing in their home gym.

Record on the road: The Lady J's hold a 182-280 record while playing road games.

Off the Court: The Lady J's had four team members named to the MAAC All-Academic team last season. Caitlin Flood, Gabrielle Cottrell, Aubrie Dellinger and Kelly Regan were those who took home the honors. Each player did a a tremendous part both on the court and in the classroom.

Best Start Ever: For the first time in the programs' history, the Lady Jaspers came out to a perfect 4-0 start in conference play. Since the start of the program in 1978, no Lady Jaspers basketball team has won their first four conference games. The best conference start previous to this teams' is 3-1 by the 2003-04 Lady J's.

On the Horizon: With MAAC play continuing on, the Lady J's will come home to play Rider College on Monday, January 18. Manhattan leads the all-time series 18-6, sweeping the Broncs last season. The Lady Jaspers have won the last five contests between the two programs, and the last six out of seven. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
