WOMENS BASKETBALL PREPARES FOR THE BATTLE OF THE UNBEATENS AGAINST MARIST

Today's Game: The Lady Jaspers will take on defending MAAC Champion and pre-season favorite Marist College today. Both teams come into today's contest with a perfect 4-0 record in conference play. The Red Foxes eliminated the Lady Jaspers last year in the MAAC Championship Quarter-final game 55-42. Senior foward Caitlin Flood looks to continue her success against Marist as she avergaed 9.0 points per game and 4.1 rebounds per game last season.

Best Start Ever: For the first time in the programs' history, the Lady Jaspers are out to a perfect 4-0 start in conference play. Since the start of the program in 1978, no Lady Jaspers basketball team has won their first four conference games. The best conference start previous to this teams' is 3-1 by the 2003-04 Lady J's.

History Vs. Marsit: The Lady Jaspers are 21-12 against the Red Foxes in program history. In their most recent meeting, Marist eliminated Manhattan from the MAAC Championship Tournament, beating them in the quarterfinals, 55-42. This will mark the 34th time these teams will meet.

History vs. MAAC: The Lady J's have 192-203 record while playing MAAC opponents. Last season they lost a second round game to MAAC Champion Marist College, 55-42. Manhattan finished 7-11 last year in conference play and is currently 2-0 this season.

Flood Warning: Senior Caitlin Flood has scored a total 1,156 points in her career. She has moved up to the 10th all-time scorer for Manhattan. Flood passed the career milestone in a 76-51 win over Howard University in the Brown University Tournament. Flood is the first Lady Jasper to join the 1,000 point club since Rosalee Mason did it in 2004 and the 16th in Manhattan College Women's Basketball history.

On the Horizon: With MAAC play in full swing, the Lady Jaspers will travel to play Saint Peter's College on Friday, January 18. Earlier this season, Manhattan beat Saint Peter's, 78-68, in their MAAC home opener. Caitlin Flood tied her career high of 27 points as Gabrielle Cottrell added 21 in the victory. Manhattan posts an 18-6 mark against Rider and has won the last four meetings between the two teams.
