West Orange, N.J. (April 3, 2007)?Nicholas LaBanca fired a round of 77(+7), the lowest round for a Jasper linksmen this spring, but the Manhattan College golf team fell by seven strokes in a dual match against Saint Peter's College. Held at the 6361yard, par-70 Rock Spring Club, the Peahens' Tom Dyer was the individual winner with a round of 75(+5), while Saint Peter's shot 324 as a team, to Manhattan's 331.
Dyer's 75 was just two shots better than LaBanca, but Manhattan's freshman was the only golfer on the day to shoot in the 30's on both the front and back nine, carding scores of 39-38. The Jaspers occupied fourth and fifth place on the afternoon, with Brian Burns placing fourth with a round of 82 (+12), and Steven Rentz tying for fifth with a round of 83 (+13). Teammate Sean Oroho was just one stroke behind Rentz, carding a round of 84 (+14).
