Philadelphia, Pa. (April 28, 2007)? 50 weeks have gone by since the 2006 IC4A/ECAC Outdoor Championships commenced in Princeton where Manhattan's Paul Peulich and Tiina Magi both won titles.  At this weekend's Penn Relays, Peulich and Magi once again won their respective events while competing at the same meet.

Although the two have experienced a great amount of success over the past year, they had not managed to capture individual crowns while competing at the same meet again until now.

Peulich, who won the 2006 IC4A hammer throw title with a personal record of 64.51m, placed first in the Collegiate Division of the men's hammer with a mark of 61.13m (200' 6”) on Saturday.  Jasper freshman Seid Mujanovic finished behind Peulich in fifth place with a mark of 58.60m.

On the previous night, Magi, who became Manhattan's first ever ECAC triple jump champ by leaping 12.51m last year, was the top performer in Eastern Division of her signature event by posting a mark of 12.39m (40' 7.75”).  The University at Albany's Sarah Charles was Magi's closest competition at 12.09m

Both Peulich and Magi qualified long ago for a chance to defend their IC4A/ECAC titles when the championships commence in two weeks, and after Saturday at Penn, the women's 4x800m relay team will be joining them.  The quartet of Shannon Radermacher, Jelena Rankovic, Megan Radermacher, and Eryka Perreault posted an ECAC qualifying time of 9:13.47 on Saturday.

Junior Milan Jotanovic threw well over 60 feet once again in the Championship of America Division of the men's shot put.  Jotanovic's throw of 18.64m (61' 2”) was second to only NC State's Mitchell Pope with whom he is no stranger to.

Prior to Friday night, Jotanovic had gotten the best of Pope twice thus far in 2007.  Jotanovic posted a higher finish than Pope this past March at the NCAA Indoor Championships where Jotanovic placed fourth overall to claim NCAA All-American honors for the second consecutive year.  On February 3 in New York, Jotanovic surpassed Pope on his final attempt to win the New Balance Collegiate Invitational.

On Thursday night, Lady Jasper freshman Malin Marmbrandt long jumped 5.67m to finish 14th in the Eastern field.

Manhattan Track and Field will also have athletes competing at Sunday's Yale Springtime Invitational in New Haven, Conn. in preparation for next weekend's MAAC Championships.
