Lewisburg, Pa. (March 22, 2007)- Manhattan played Bucknell University even in the second half, but could not overcome a first half deficit, dropping a 12-6 decision to the Bison this afternoon at Graham Field on the Bucknell campus.  The game was delayed 40 minutes due to lightning in the area.

The Bison controlled the scoreboard in the first half, scoring eight of the 10 goals scored.  Bucknell scored the first five goals of the game, until Brenna Tinari got the Lady Jaspers on the board at the 17:15 mark.  After a Bison goal made the score 6-1, Alicia Psillos scored off an assist from Jenny Carman at the 10:36 mark.  Bucknell scored twice more before the end of the half and took an 8-2 lead into the locker room.

The Bison scored the first three goals of the second to open up an 11-2 lead before Manhattan scored four of the final five goals of the game.  Psillos opened up the closing run with a tally, again teaming up with Carman.  Just 13 seconds later, Lauren Civardi tallied the first of her two goals to make the score 11-4 with 20:51 left in the game.  Psillos handed out the assists on the Lady Jaspers final two goals.  The first goal was scored by Civardi, with the second goal being scored by Jillian McGowan.

Ashley Devins made seven saves in net for Manhattan.

Psillos tallied four points (two goals, two assists) to pace the Lady Jasper offense, and Carman and Civardi each recorded two point games.  McGowan scooped up a team-high five ground balls, and also tallied a team-high two draw controls.

Manhattan returns to action on Friday, March 30, opening up MAAC play by hosting Marist College at 3:00 p.m.
