Baltimore, Md. (February 10, 2007)?Manhattan Women's Swimming saw two more program records fall, and senior Nicole Mason nearly accounted for a third, on the final day of the MAAC Championships at Loyola College in Baltimore, Md.
Mason trimmed more than seven seconds off of her seed time to make it through to the consolation final of the 200 backstroke and produce the second fastest time in program history. Mason's preliminary time of 2:20.77 is second to only senior Courtney Arduini, whose recent illness prevented her from traveling down to the final MAAC meet of her storied career, in the Manhattan record book. Although Arduini's absence is evident in the final team scoring, Mason did her best to compensate for her teammate's nonattendance by finishing 15th overall in the event with a final s time of 2:20.97.
For the second consecutive day, sophomore Megan O'Keefe broke one of her own school record, this time, doing it in the 200 fly. O'Keefe finished 11th overall in the event with her time of 2:16.98 in the consolation final.
In the final event of the meet, O'Keefe joined former high school teammate freshman Megan Goldrick, freshman Catherine Chan, and junior Maura McGowan in setting the new 400 free relay program record at 3:47.55.
With 130 points, Manhattan finished ninth in the meet's overall team standings.
