Boston, Mass. (February 10, 2007)?Amy Colantuono, Lauren Cervino, and Erin Gregorek capped off Manhattan's tenth consecutive MAAC Indoor team title last year as part of an exciting victory in the women's 4x400m relay; but if the ladies are going to defend their 4x400 crown when the conference championships commence in less than one week, then they will need to find a replacement for the recently-graduated Kendra Gellar.  On Saturday night at Boston University's Valentine Invitational, first-year Jasper Shannon Radermacher made her attempt at filling that void.

Radermacher, who is using her remaining athletic eligibility to compete for Manhattan after earning an undergraduate degree at Michigan State University, was the Kelly Green and White's top finisher in the women's 400m dash by clocking in at 58.45s.  Gregorek, who also competed in the 200m dash, joined Radermacher in running a sub-60 400m by registering a time of 59.48s

Colantuono and Cervino were the squad's top two finishers in the 200m dash with times of 27.05s and 27.19s, respectively.

Radermacher's twin sister Megan, who also comes to Riverdale after competing for the Spartans, posted her top 1000m time of the season at 3:00.69 to claim 15th overall amongst 69 entrants.  Freshman Mary Consiglio also finished in the top half of the event with a 34th place time of 3:04.55.

Another newcomer produced the top Manhattan time in the women's 3K as freshman Lindsay Southard completed the event in 10:27.95, leading three other Jasper entrants in setting new seasonal bests.  Sophomores Sarah Rogers and Melissa Trauscht logged their best 3K marks of the season at 10:36.67 and 10:47.40, respectively, while fellow sophomore Ellen Dobbin enjoyed a career performance in the event by clocking in at 10:49.43.

In the field events, senior Tiina Magi turned in another impressive performance with a top mark of 12.48m in the triple jump.  Magi, the 2006 ECAC Outdoor triple jump champ, was the top collegiate finisher in her signature event, claiming second overall.  Junior Shanelle Lawrence was 12th in the triple with her mark of 10.65m.

Manhattan's only men's action of the day consisted of the distance medley relay's IC4A qualifying performance.  The combination of freshman Milos Vuckovic, senior Darnell Douglas, freshman Matt Kaftanski, and freshman Tobias Lundgren clocked in at 10:13.22 to finish in 10th place and secure their return ticket to Boston, where the IC4A Championships will commence during the first week of March.
