MEN'S BASKETBALL CONTINUES MAAC PLAY AT LOYOLA ON SUNDAY

Riverdale, N.Y. (December 8, 2007)- The Manhattan College men's basketball team looks to carry the momentum of its buzzer-beater win over Saint Peter's College, as the Jaspers continue MAAC play with a road tilt at Loyola College on Sunday, December 9. Manhattan and the Greyhounds will tip-off from the Reitz Arena on Loyola's Baltimore, Md. campus at 12 noon.

Today's Matchup: The Jaspers continue MAAC play, traveling to Baltimore, Md. to take on the Loyola College Greyhounds on Sunday, December 9. Manhattan leads the all-time series, 29-13, and has won five of the last six games and 15 of the last 17. Last season, the two programs split the season series, with Loyola taking a 77-58 decision in Riverdale, and the Jaspers returning the favor with a 70-68 win.

What's Next?: Following today's game, the Jaspers travel to Princeton, N.J. to take on the Princeton University Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 16. Princeton leads the all-time series, 15-1, with the lone Manhattan win coming in the 1981-82 season, a 52-39 decision. The Tigers have won the last three meetings, including a 57-45 win in Draddy Gymnasium last season. Manhattan allowed just 14 first half point in that game vs. Princeton, the fewest first half points allowed since Manhattan held Loyola to 17 first half points in the First Round of the 2005 MAAC Tournament (3/4/2005).

All-time record: Manhattan is in its 102nd season of men's basketball. The Jaspers' overall record is 1208-1042 (.537), while the team has posted a 202-202 (.500) record over 26-plus seasons of MAAC play. The men's basketball program was established in 1904-05 and has taken two seasons off (1943-44 and 1944-45) due to World War II. In 55 of the program's 101-plus seasons, including the four of the last six seasons, the Jaspers have posted a .500 or better record. Manhattan's 200 MAAC wins makes them just the second MAAC team to reach 200 wins in conference, joining Iona College.

Jaspers Live on the Internet: For the 10th consecutive year, Manhattan College's men's basketball games will be broadcast live via the Internet. In partnership with Stretch Internet, followers of Manhattan basketball can now access the live play-by-play of all Jasper games. MAAC Weekly Honors: Freshman guard Rashad Green was named MAAC Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week for the week ending December 2, after averaging 15.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.5 blocks per game.

Century Mark For Austin: With a made three-pointer with 17:32 left in the second half against Saint Peter's on Friday, December 7, junior Devon Austin reached the century mark for made three-pointers in a career. The White Plains, N.Y. native is on pace to become the Jaspers' all-time leader in three point makes and attempts for a career.
