Today's Game: Manhattan is opening its MAAC regular season today at Siena College. This game will mark the 43rd time these teams will play each other. Last year the team's split in their two meetings with Siena beating Manhattan in the last regular season game. This will be the third consecutive year Manhattan and Siena will face off in each other's MAAC season openers.
MAAC Openers: Manhattan is 11-18 when opening their MAAC season. In last season's opener, the Lady Jaspers came away with a victory of Siena 52-42.
History Vs. Siena: The Lady Jaspers are 14-28 against the Saints. Last season Manhattan went 1-1 against them, as Siena won the last game they played. This will mark the 43rd meeting between the two schools.
Record at Draddy: The Lady J's hold a 208-153 record while playing in their home gym.
Record on the road: The Lady J's hold a 180-279 record while playing road games.
Flood Warning: Senior Caitlin Flood has scored a total 1,012 points in her career. Flood passed the career milestone in a 76-51 win over Howard University in the Brown University Tournament. Flood is the first Lady Jasper to join the 1,000 point club since Rosalee Mason did it in 2004 and the 16th in Manhattan College Women's Basketball history.
Awards: Senior Caitlin Flood was named MAAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending December 1. Flood averaged 22.5 points over her two games, including a 27 point performance that put her over the 1,000 career point mark. Flood also shot 65% on the week and went 17-18 from the free throw line.
On the Horizon: The Lady Jaspers will have their first MAAC regular season home game against Saint Peter's College on Decmber 9. The following weekend, they will play their last non-conference road game as they will travel to take on Fairleigh Dickinson University. They then will then follow with a season long three game homestand against all non-conference teams. On December 19 they will take on Southern Methodist University, followed by a December 22 contest against the University of Vermont. Their homestand will wrap up against Villanova University on December 30.
