GAME TWO BOXSCOREWashington, D.C. (February 26, 2006)- Manhattan defeated Mt. St. Mary's, 13-5, and then defeated George Washington, 11-10, to claim the GW Tournament title this afternoon.
In the deciding game vs. GW, the Lady Jaspers trailed, 10-3, after three innings, but put together the winning rally in the bottom of the sixth, scoring five runs, capped by a bases loaded walk by
Liz Strein, to take home the title.
Kristin Gelsleichter picked up the win in relied, allowing no runs over the final three innings.
In the win over Mt. St. Mary's,
Jill Medea went the distance for the win, as the Lady Jaspers scored five runs in the top of the first.
Kiera Fox carried the big bat for Manhattan, going 2-5 with six RBI and two runs scored.
