Riverdale, NY (May 9, 2005)- The men's and women's track & field teams had 24 athletes named to the MAAC All-Academic team announced yesterday by MAAC officials.
To be eligible for the MAAC All-Academic Team, a student athlete must have completed at least two semesters, must be a starter or a significant reserve, and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale.
The men had 11 athletes make the team including, seniors Nils Petterson (Boden, Sweden/Civil Engineering) and
Matt Reilly (Burnt Hills, NY/History), juniors
Anders Constantin (Uddevalla, Sweden/Computer Engineering),
Todd Raymond (Scotia, NY/Spanish),
Tyler Raymond (Scotia, NY/ Business Finance), and
Russell Stevens (Westbury, NY/Education/English), and sophomores
Chris Breslin (Latham, NY/Finance),
Matthew Krauss (Stormville, NY/ Engineering),
Paul Papitto (Harriman, NY/Computer Engineering),
Andrew Pellet (Croton-On-Hudson, NY/Physics) and
Anthony Vernaci (Bellerose, NY/Psychology).
On the women's side, 13 women earned MAAC All-Academic honors the most out of any team in the conference. The team included seniors Julie Lamiquiz (Staten Island, NY/Physical Education) and Stephanie Morris (Plainville, MA/Communications), juniors Caryn Capalbo (Exeter, NH/Elementary Education), Jenna Daly (Massapequa, NY/Secondary Education), Nicholle Davis (Nashua, NH/Engineering), Renee Foti (New Windsor, NY), Kendra Geller (Rockville Centre, NY/Sociology), Alyson Horgan (Delmar, NY/Psychology/Special Education), Ginine Lucarello (Mastic Beach, NY/Elementary Education) and Sarah Mollard (Glenville, NY/Biochemistry), and sophomores Julia Audette (Southington, CT/Physical Education), Limunga Litombe (Suffern, NY/Biology) and Erin Pogue (Westminster, MD/Education).
