JOTANOVIC RANKED TOP 20 IN WORLD AFTER DICK SHEA OPEN

West Point, NY (March 28, 2005)- Freshman Milan Jotanovic is currently ranked one of the top 20 Shot Putters in the world after the Dick Shea Open at West Point this weekend. He broke the school record for the second time this season with a throw of 19.00m capturing first place.

Junior Anders Constantin captured second place in the Shot after his toss of 15.07m. In third place was sophomore Paul Peulich (14.98m) and in fourth was freshman Rich Reuter (14.68m). Sophomore Chris Sole won the High Jump vertically jumping 1.99m. In the Long Jump, freshman Dexter Jules placed second in the Long Jump with his leap of 6.93m.

The Hammer Throwers took second and third place. Junior Zoran Loncar captured second with his toss of 61.76m and Peulich placed third throwing 59.64m. 2004 Manhattan graduate Thomas Jacob Freeman finished first with his throw of 69.97m. Senior Nils Pettersson captured fourth place in the Discus with his toss of 39.97m and freshman Margus Must took seventh place with his throw of 36.84m.

The men's 4x400m Relay team placed third at with a time of 3:27.00. Sophomore Joseph Cruz finished third in the 110m Hurdles with a time of 15.68 seconds. Placing third in the 400m with a time of 50.59 was sophomore Paul Papitto. Freshman Joseph McElhoney took 14th place in the 5000m finishing in 15:47.67.

On the women's side, junior Jenna Daly captured first place in the Pole Vault with her vault of 3.36m. Sophomore Tiina Magi finished second in the High Jump with her jump of 1.65m and freshman Caitlyn Kjolhede took third place with her vertical jump of 1.60m. Finishing third in the Hammer Throw after her toss of 51.72m was junior Marina Liander and sophomore Ida-Marie Holmgren finished fifth throwing the Hammer 50.91m. Holmgren also competed in the Discus finishing sixth with her toss of 33.59m. Liander took 10th place in the Discus with her throw of 32.44m and junior Jennifer Bradley finished 12th with her throw of 27.62m.

Freshman Jasmine Rogers captured second place in the 100m Hurdles (14.97) and the 200m (26.81). Junior Caryn Capalbo competed in the 5000m finishing the race in 18:35.32 for fourth place. The women's 4x400m Relay captured eighth place.

The Jaspers compete again on Thursday, April 7 at the Texas Relays in Austin, TX at 10 a.m.
