TRACK & FIELD EARNS 24 MAAC ALL-ACADEMIC HONORS

Riverdale, NY (February 24, 2005)-The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference office announced that 24 members of the Manhattan College men and women's indoor track & field teams were named to the 2005 New York Lottery Academic Team.

To be eligible for the New York Lottery MAAC Academic Team, a student-athlete must complete two semesters at their institution, be a significant starter or reserve and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale.

The Lady Jaspers had twelve women make the team. They had the third most members falling behind Loyola (17) and Marist (13). The men also had 12 athletes earn All-Academic honors finishing third out of all the MAAC schools. Marist finished first with 14 athletes and Iona finished second with 13.
