Baltimore, MD (February 20, 2005)- The women's swimming team completed competition at the 2005 MAAC Championships by setting several school records and establishing multiple personal and season bests. The team ultimately finished in ninth place, with 117 points, the most ever for a Manhattan team since the MAAC expanded to a 10-team format eight years ago.

On the final day of competition, Courtney Arduini swam in the consolation finals, and broke the school record in the 200 breaststroke, swimming the race in 2:37.00, three seconds better than the previous mark. Meanwhile, the 400 freestyle relay team of Arduini, Nicole Mason, Sarah Szotak and Maura McGowan bested the previous school record by nearly 10 seconds, finishing the relay in 3:50.00, shattering the previous mark.

Manhattan swimmers set either personal or season bests in 32 races over the three days of competition, while the team racked up its largest number of points since Marist and Rider joined the MAAC at the beginning of the 1997-98 season.
