Buffalo, N.Y. (November 6, 2005)- Despite out shooting Canisius, 19-8, Manhattan ended its 2005 season with a 2-0 loss this afternoon. The Jaspers tallied eight shots and three corners before Canisius took a shot, but did not have an answer for Golden Griff goalkeeper Matt Houghton.
The two sides battled through a scoreless first half, as Manhattan posted a 12-2 shots advantage, and a 5-1 edge in corners, forcing Matt Houghton to make four of his game-high eight saves, but neither team could find the back of the net.
The Golden Griffs finally cracked the scoreboard at the 47 minute mark, before adding a late insurance goal to provide the final margin.
Adam Kiley paced the Manhattan attack with three shots on goal, while
Josh Swett added two.
The Jaspers end their season with a 1-15-3 overall record, 1-5-3 in MAAC play.
