SWIMMING SPLITS DOUBLE-DUAL WITH BRIDGEPORT, SACRED HEART

Bridgeport, Conn. (November 5, 2005)- Behind strong performances from Sarah Szotak and Susie Mothes, Manhattan split a dual meet this afternoon, defeating host Bridgeport, 52-30, but falling to Sacred Heart, 58-47. The Lady Jaspers improve to 3-1 on the season.

Szotak produced her strong performances in the 50 Free (26.04) and the 100 Back (1:06.46) as well as swimming a quality leg in the 200 Medley Relay, teaming up with Courtney Arduini, Megan O'Keefe, and Maura McGowan to put up a time of 1:58.93.

Mothes swam the distance events for head coach Walter Olsewski, touching in a time of 12:20.04 in the 1000 Free and 5:57.62 in the 500 Free, while also swimming a leg in the 200 Free Relay (1:51.71), along with Lauren Sullivan, Bethany Karbowski, and Nicole Mason.

The Lady Jaspers return to the pool on Saturday, November 12, traveling to Jersey City, N.J. for a MAAC quad meet featuring the host, Saint Peter's, as well as Niagara and Canisius. The meet is slated to begin at 2:00 p.m.
