Schenectady, N.Y. (March 6, 2004) - After defeating Sacred Heart in their season opener in overtime, 10-9, the Jaspers received its first loss of the season to University at Albany at Union College, 16-5. Luke Daquion led the Great Danes with three goals and four assists. Nick Cacciatore led the way for the Jaspers with two goals and one assist. Manhattan falls to 1-1 for the season.
The Great Danes recorded six goals in both the first quarter and the third quarter. Michael Solazzo added three goals and three assists during those runs.
Eugene Tanner and Justin Otto combined for two goals and two assists in the loss. Greg Lewis finished out the scoring for the Jaspers with a goal. Goaltenders Robert Busweiler and John Landers combined for 13 saves.
The Jaspers will be back in action on this coming Wednesday in Easton, PA against Lafayette at 3 pm.
