Riverdale, NY (December 1, 2004)- The men's and women's track & field teams opened up their 2004-05 Indoor season. Combined the teams had 14 men and women qualify for the Metropolitan Championships. Five of those men qualified for the IC4A Championships, while Jenna Daly earned an ECAC qualifying mark in the Pole Vault setting a new Manhattan Indoor Record of 3.60m.

Paul Peulich all qualified for the IC4A Championships in the Weight Throw. Freeman came in second with a throw of 18.91m. Finishing in third and fourth place were Constantin (18.52m) and Loncar (18.49m). Constantin also qualified in the Shot Put after he threw 15.77m. Peulich had a great first meet as a Jasper coming in fifth place with a toss of 18.29m in the Weight and then qualifying for the MET's in the Shot Put after his second place toss of 15.26m. Petterson finished the Heptathlon scoring 5, 015 points for a first place finish.

Nick Newman. Guidotti (2nd, 14.05m), Newman (3rd, 14.02) and Henry (4th, 13.75m) all qualified in the Triple Jump. Newman also qualified in the Long Jump after his first place leap of 6.70m.
Sophomore Michael Pellet won the High Jump with a vertical leap of 2.01m. Freshman
Jaime Aponte was crowned Pole Vault champion with a vault of 3.70m. Freshman
Margus Must competed in the Heptathlon today finishing second with a score of 4, 442 points.
On the women's side, junior Jennifer Bradley and freshman Ida-Maria Holmgren qualified for the Metropolitan Championships in the Weight Throw each throwing their personal best. Holmgren placed fourth throwing 14.68m and Bradley threw 13.30m finishing eighth.
Placing first for the women in the Shot Put was junior Marina Liander after her throw of 13.55m. Sophomore transfer Tiina Magi competed in her first meet as a Lady Jasper and captured a first place finish in the Triple Jump (11.79m). Senior Stephanie Morris finished first in the Pentathlon earning a personal best of 3, 096 points. Freshman Erin Gregorek was a second place finisher in the Pentathlon finishing with 2, 879 points.
Manhattan alumni
Thomas Jacob Freeman competed in Draddy Gymnasium today for the first time for the New York Athletic Club (NYAC) and not as a Jasper. He threw 21.98m to give NYAC a first place finish in the Weight Throw. With this throw he already qualified himself for the US National Championships that will be held February 27-28 at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston, MA.
The Jaspers compete again on Sunday, December 5 at the Princeton Invitational in Princeton, NJ at 11 a.m.
