VOLLEYBALL FALLS TO FAIRFIELD IN FOUR

Fairfield, CT (November 9, 2004)- Manhattan took the first game from Fairfield, but the Stags rallied to take the next three games to defeat the Lady Jaspers, 3-1. Game scores were 29-31, 30-26, 30-20, 30-20. Junior Maggie Pfeifer led all players with 23 kills.

Lindsey Lee led Fairfield with 16 kills and chipped in with 18 digs. Jazmin Pa'akaula had 14 kills and 24 digs, while Casey Machon had 13 kills for the Stags.

Junior Lori Bambauer registered 46 assists, and junior Ashley Davis had 27 digs for the Lady Jaspers. Davis has now posted 72 digs in the last three matches.

Keri Kaiser had 26 assists and 13 digs for Fairfield, and Ashley Hanohano had 22 assists. Lauren Laramore had 19 digs for the Stags.

Fairfield finished the match with 76 kills, a .291 hitting percentage, 64 assists, 96 digs, and 6.0 total blocks. Manhattan had 58 kills, 51 assists, 81 digs and 7.0 total blocks in the match.

Fairfield now moves into sole possession of first place in the MAAC with the win, which improves their conference record to 7-1 and 20-9 overall. With the loss, Manhattan falls to 6-23 overall and 2-6 in the MAAC.

The Lady Jaspers will return to action on Saturday, November 13, when they will travel to Iona in their final match of the season. First serve is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
