SWIMMING KNOCKS OFF BRIDGEPORT FOR SECOND STRAIGHT WIN

Riverdale, NY (November 6, 2004)- Co-captain Heather Kennedy won the 1000 freestyle in a time of 13:03.30 to help pace the Lady Jaspers to a 79-58 win over the University of Bridgeport this afternoon at Riverdale Country School. Manhattan improves its record to 3-2 with the victory.

Courtney Arduini won two events, the 100 back (1:07.30) and the 200 free (2:10.02) and Rachele Testa won the 100 breast in a time of 1:18.17 to round the individual event winners for Manhattan.

Lauren Sullivan, Testa, Ashley Rooney, and Michelle LaTouche brought home the win in the 200 medley relay with a time of 2:10.06.

Meanwhile, the team of Nicole Mason, Arduini, Sarah Szotak, and Maura McGowan posted the second-fastest time in Manhattan College history in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:48.67, narrowly missing the record time of 1:48.10, set at the 2004 MAAC Championships in February.

Manhattan returns to the pool next Saturday, November 13, when they will travel to Buffalo, NY to compete in a tri-meet against MAAC rivals Niagara and Canisius. The meet is scheduled to begin at noon.
