Newark, NJ (October 12, 2004)- Brian Lundy scored all the goals Manhattan would need in a 1-0 victory over host New Jersey Institute of Technology in non-conference men's soccer action Tuesday evening at Lubetkin Field.
In the game's 65th minute, Lundy settled a corner kick and got off a shot which was deflected by an NJIT defender. Lundy was the first man to get to the rebound, took two touches and snuck a low shot inside the near post.
NJIT tried to knot the score in the 81st minute when Adam Gross ran onto a long pass and had a shot from the right side blocked in a one-on-one situation by the Jaspers' Collin Leaver, who made five saves in his second shutout of the season. Collin Cunning had five saves for the 0-10 Highlanders.
Manhattan gets back in action on Friday, October 15, when the Jaspers continue MAAC play in Lawrenceville, NJ against Rider in a game scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m.
