Matt Nealis

Matt Nealis is in his third season with the Jaspers after spending two years as Steve Manitta's assistant at Mercy College. His specialty focuses on the defensive end of the field as well as film breakdown.

Acting as the Jaspers defensive coordinator, Nealis coached a squad that held opponents to a .410 Man-Up Conversion percentage. The defense also helped to successfully clear 73.0% of the teams chances.

While at Mercy, Nealis coached the team to the "man-down" unit to the highest kill percentage, 89.7%, in Division II.

No stranger to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC), Nealis was a four year stand-out at Mount St. Mary's in Maryland from 2006-10. While there, he was named Second Team All-MAAC in 2008 prior to being a two-time captain for the Mountaineers.

In 2009 and 2010 he earned First-Team All-Conference honors while helping lead the Mount to a 2010 MAAC Championship and a berth in the NCAA Tournament. Durnig his senior campaign, he also played in the 2010 North vs. South Senior All-Star game.
